Personal experience with Information , Communication and Technology.

ICT which stands INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY can be looked in different ways in terms of defining it. A good way of looking at it is considering all uses of digital technology that exist to help individuals, businesses and organisations to use information. ICT has an impact on nearly every aspect of our lives, from working to socialising, learning to playing. In my own personal experience with ICT is that from the whole of primary school it was not used at all, however as I started secondary school technology was becoming more popular and used within majority of the subjects. (Johnson et al (1986), provided evidence to suggest that cooperative learning rather than competitive or individualistic learning produced greater learning gains. They concluded that cooperative organisation of groups to carry out tasks has a central role to play in computer-based learning. Papert (1980) also provides a similar philosophy where he describes the need for children to 'absorb the computer culture', to become familiar with these tools.

Personal Experience with Information Communication Technology

Information Communication Technology is a form of knowledge which allows pupils to explore different areas of pedagogical learning to build different designs and strengthens a child’s learning capacity (Gov, 2014). From my own personal learning experiences, this has allowed my mathematical learning to be adapted and enhanced using mathematical software online (Greenhow, 2015).  Information Communication Technology is a legal requirement as part of the new National Curriculum which will be implemented in 2018.The Donaldson Report which was published in February 2015(CSCJES, 2015).Starting at Key stage one and two; it provides the child with a basic understanding of how to navigate around the information and allow children with a new way of thinking and expression (CSCJES, 2015) .However, in my personal experience there were not enough computers to facilitate each individual-learner in the classroom. Moreover, Information Communication Technology was invaluable to my personal pedagogical learning. This enabled the information source to enhance my knowledge of a specific topic by adapting the pedagogical style to the lesson objectives (Akbiyik et al, 2012).

Personal Experience with Information Communication Technology

'Technology is available to develop either independence and learning or bureaucracy and teaching' (Illich, 1973 cited in Abbout 2001 p.32).  Throughout my personal experience with technology, I have gained knowledge and stored vital information that has helped me achieve communication and sharing information between my peers.  Technology influenced my research and resources which resulted in a higher grade within a subject area (Ager, 2003).  However, I have learnt that technology is always changing and advancing, and pedagogy reacts slowly due to the oncoming changes (Richardson,2010).  During my compulsory education, I felt that educators had a lack of interest in technology and believed that it did not improve the teaching in a classroom, which effected the use of ICT in education (Jimoyiannis et al, 2007).
